Father’s Day, For Those With An Absent Father………

WAKE UP CALL. The cuts were his distraction. Drops of… | by Anthony Markland | MediumFor me personally, this was a PRETTY TOUGH piece to write, and for good reason! You know, it’s hard to put into words the thoughts that I fathom on and the feelings I just cant shake nor forsake when it comes to THIS particular day. For as long as I can remember, Father’s Day is one of the days that I and others who were raised in homes where our father’s presence cease to exist, dread the most! It is a day that instantly triggers one’s incapacitated child-like emotions like none other. Within those 24 hours, one is forced to be reminded of the memories that were never created in times past. The perpetual pangs and feelings of rejection, abandonment, resentment, anger, hurt, disgust, and disappointment. Oh and let us not forget to mention all of the “ Why didn’t my Dad raise me?” Why didn’t he care enough? What did I do to deserve this level of pain? Why didn’t he ever pick up the phone or come and see me? Why didn’t God love me enough to bless me with a loving father? Why don’t I get to experience what it’s like to have a normal family, with TWO parents under the same roof?” And the list goes on and on and on.

Sound familiar?

Father to the Fatherless: What to Believe When Dad Walks Away | Desiring GodYou Are Not Alone

You are NOT alone, My brother, my sister, If you’re reading this, and if what I said registered with your spirit, know that on this day and in your everyday life,You Are Not Alone! According to The U.S Census Bureau, 18.3 million children, 1 in 4, that live without an adoptive, biological, or step father. While this may be true, God promises I say this boldly because there is an innumerable amount of little girls, boys, and adults dealing and learning how to heal from the trials, travesties, and traumas stinging and stemming from them abandoned adolescent stages and ages. So, not only are you not alone in a physical sense, but in a spiritual sense as well. Our Daddy God promises in Deuteronomy 31:6 NIV inspires us to “Be strong and courageous…for for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” My God! What a Word. What a Heavenly Promise! So, not only does Our Heavenly Father Who Art In Heaven vow to never remove His Love, Spirit, Infinite Grace, and Everlasting Mercy from us BUT He also affirms and reassures us as His Precious Children that He will never forget about us or cast us aside, emotionally.

Feel The Feels…All Of Them

Remember when I mentioned earlier the perpetual pangs and feelings of resentment, anger, incomprehensible rage, abandonment and insecurity issues that trouble one’s mind and plagues one soul? Oh yeah, you’re more than likely going to feel ALL of this, that, and the other TODAY, and that’s completely understandable? You wanna know why? Because at the heart of things, is everything. Your emotion, your every emotion matters. Your emotions are the external mirrors, of what’s going on internally, deep down inside of you. Therefore, your emotions are either steering you clear on a path toward betterment or have you spiraling down into a pit of bitterness. Beloved, this can’t be nor can you allow it to continue! In John 14:27 (AMP) Jesus reminds us that, Peace I leave with you; My [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. [Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.]

My dear brethren, you may be off your rocker today. You may even cry, kick, scream, and become easily triggered by your childhood trauma and former pains. And that’s okay. It’s okay to not be okay. Okay?

Filling The VOID

I believe the reason why a lot of people feel heavy, guilty, and even gloomy on Father’s Day is because there is a certain emptiness that cannot be overlooked. I mean how can you fake your feelings? Enjoying Father’s Day sounds absolutely ludicrous if you’ve never had a father around to celebrate and laugh with. Father’s Day, is just a day, but when you’re reminded of your former days, your daddy issues instantly spring up to rear it’s ugly head. So you walk around with a heavy heart, and an unmet need, attempting to fill a void that has yet to be closed.

A Father Of The Fatherless

I know deep down in my soul that God foreknew that a vast majority of His Children would be burdened by daddy issues and struggle tremendously with rejection and abandonment issues. How am I so sure of this? Well because He tells us in Psalm 68:5 that He is  A father of the fatherless…So not only is He Our Heavenly Father, but He alone is The Father of All Fathers! Yes, that’s correct. He is even the father of your earthly father. You see, for His Purpose and Will alone, God chose “that man” to be your father. For whatever reason, He chose him to get you here!

Beloved, your earthly father might have been absent in your life, but he did his job by getting you here. Perhaps, you’ll never know his reasoning as to why he never stepped up or manned up. Perhaps, he never grew up. Perhaps, it wasn’t meant for your father to be in your life because you wouldn’t be the man, the woman, you are today! Perhaps you’ll never get an apology an explanation as to “WHY?!”

For whatever reason, only God knows Beloved.

So, I say unto you This Day, REJOICE! Tell God, HAPPY FATHER’S DAY! Be strong and of good courage! Let not your precious heart be troubled! TODAY IS A CELEBRATION FOR YOU! Wooohooooooo!!! You see, without your father’s precious seed, your Heavenly Father wouldn’t have been able to plant oh-so precious seeds of greatness down inside of you and impregnate you with passion, prophecies, and purpose!

The Lord Had Made Them To Rejoice Over Their Enemies
