Coffee and Culture: Jadakiss Launches Kiss Café With His Father and Son
Can’t start your mornings without a cup of coffee? Well, you’re in for a treat because rapper Jason “Jadakiss” Phillips is brewing something special with his father Bob and son Jaewon. Last Tuesday, the three generations of men launched a coffee brand called Kiss Café to provide the best quality java to everyone.
“This coffee is for all coffee lovers,” Jadakiss notes in a press release. “No specific age or background or knowledge. Coffee is a universal and a personal thing. Everyone enjoys it differently. And we’re here to help them do that.”
Coffee runs deep in the Phillips family as Bob has been working in the coffee industry since 1977. Along the way, he’s gained knowledge and developed relationships with coffee roasters, disturbers and manufacturers. Now he’s using his expertise to create a successful family-owned coffee company. “This is one of my proudest professional and personal achievements,” Bob reflects. “There is no greater honor than taking what you’ve learned in this life and inspiring your family to join you and bring that pursuit to the next level.”
Kiss Café’s inaugural coffee is Beijo—a medium-dark Arabica blend whose name translates to “kiss” in Portuguese. The blend, sourced in Central America, boasts a sweet aroma and a bold flavor profile. “Kiss Café is authentic,” Jaewon says. “It’s real. No gimmicks. It’s been in our family for well over 40 years and everything we do here is from the core.”
The coffee beans are sealed in a bag with the company’s logo, which is three intervened coffee beans to symbolize each individual as well as family, tradition and heritage. You can purchase Beijo for $14.99 in ground and whole bean options on the company’s website (KissCafeCoffee.com).
