Fear-Not-1

Fear…The Exact Opposite Of Faith

I sought The Lord and He answered me and delivered me from all my fears.- Psalms 34:4 ESV

BELOVED, Fear EXISTS, so let’s put aside any and all ideologies that it does not. You see, Fear is the exact opposite of faith. Can I get an amen somebody?

So what is fear exactly?

Fear is that thing that stops YOU from after the things of God, Whether it be a new job, a once in a lifetime opportunity, a friendship, relationship, business partnership, etc.You see, FEAR tells you what you can’t do, what you can’t attain, who you’ll never be, BUT faith in God and the belief in oneself, reminds YOU that YOU CAN do all things through Christ, who gives you strength (see Philippians 4:13).

Fear ultimately blinds and binds. It blinds you from the possibility of seeing what’s right in front of you and keeps you bound by terror and fear of the unknown- ultimately prohibiting you from gracefully pursuing your God given destiny and true identity in Christ. I believe that fear is a scare tactic used by the enemy and the inner me to stop us dead in our tracks while knocking us off track.

A Moment of Truth

Do YOU possess more fear than you do faith? Do you respond to new opportunities fearfully or faithfully? Truthfully speaking, what is the foundation of your life built upon? Not only does fear limit your your perception of God and the world, it deprives you from you from seeing who you really are in God.

Fear stunts your growth on all dimensions and in all areas and arenas in and around your life.

Fear is like a parasite that eventually causes paralysis. it slowly eats away at all perimeters and parameters of your life eventually shutting down your ability to create, build, and experience joy, fulfillment, and true success. Yes hunty, fear sucks the life right on up out of you!

For there are no advancements in fear, only limitations!

What is Fear?

To illustrate fear,The Good Book states in 2 Timothy 1:7, ” For God has not given us the spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love and self-discipline. Wow! There’s are answer right there my friend! Fear is a spirit. Yes you read that right! Say it with me now, “FEAR IS A Spirit.”

So, how do we overcome a spirit that always seeks to conquer and devour us?

With the Word of Truth and reminding yourself AND the devil who you are and what a Mighty God you serve awhile being strong and courageous! (2 Chronicles 32:7). Now, Keep in mind this is a not a one time event, but a daily process. In other words, you’re most DEFLEE gonna need God’s Help with!

What Does Fear Feel Like?

Now, let’s think about how fear makes us feel? Uncomfortable. Panic. Worried. Super Tense. Stressed. Full of  terror, doubt, and unbelief. Just downright awful! You wanna know why? Like any demonic spirit or entity sent from the fiery pits of hell, the spirit of fear loves to creep up on you. And as soon as it creeps, soon after starts to seep.

For fear, the spirit of fear, creeps and seeps.

It creeps right up on you and starts whispering lies to you, lies of what you can’t be, and who you used to be, how that’ll NEVER happen for you-lies that ultimately seeps down into every part of your being-mentally, spiritually, physically, financially, relationally, and emotionally.

How To Overcome Fear

Remember when I told you how you’re going to need God’s help overcoming the spirit of fear? Yeah, I was serious. It is equally important to remember that order for you and I to win the good fight of faith, overcome our fears, and conquer our enemies in the natural world and in the spiritual realms, we must learn how to daily use The Word as a weapon while being strong and courageous by rebuking and binding that dirty dog devil up!

blk girl praying

Now, Repeat after me boys and girls and say it real loud so that the devil can hear, “SATAN, I BIND THEE!” Did you see and feel how and empowering that was! Honey, you’re a Beloved Child Of The Most High God and don’t you ever forget it! Betta act like you know! Tuh! *crosses legs all-sophisticated-like and sips kool-aid, the red kind!

For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere.- Ephesians 6:12 AMPC

Points To Ponder

According to Psychology Today, minding one’s thoughts, acknowledging their fears, and being present can go a long way toward managing everyday fears. The first step is to question the story behind a fear. When one’s mental predictions insist that something will go wrong or that an individual faces imminent danger, the ability to step back, recognize those thoughts as stories, and calmly evaluate whether they are true or rational can be a powerful step toward overcoming them.

DID YOU KNOW that choosing( yes, FEAR is a choice) to live a life a limited life produces the fruit of inadequacy and failure in your own life? How many times have you sabotaged your own dreams and divine destiny?

Now ask yourself, how many times have I forfeited my future because of fear of the future and fear of the unknown consequently telling God NO when He was attempting to touch and agree with you to just say YES! Beloved, as I ask you these questions, I am answering them as well.

The truth of the matter is that I have allowed me to stop and slow me down far too many times. I know that I probably should be further along in life than I am now but I guess I’ll never know and you want to know why? It’s simple, FEAR!

But you know what? None of that matters because what matters now is,right now and not what happened, or what you and I didn’t accomplish way back when.

Above all, it’s time for you to stop listening to those misleading voices and allowing the spirit of fear to taunt and torment you. Listen, for God’s still voice to lead and guide you!
