I Tried It: DVINITI Skincare + Spa

Lately, skincare has taken center stage in the beauty world. From Kim Kardashian’s signature SKKN facial to Lori Harvey’s 5-step system, it got me thinking. With all the options out there, how does one figure out what works for them?

Facials are, by definition, a beauty treatment for the face. However, DVINITI Skincare in Philadelphia takes it to a whole new level.

Now, onto my experience at DVINITI Spa: 

The Customization Process

I’ve had facials before, but I always wonder what they put on my face. Honestly, I usually leave confused and sometimes with even more irritated skin. 

Before heading to DVINITI for my facial, however, Marquita sent me a skincare quiz to fill out surrounding my needs and lifestyle. This thoughtful step ensured that Marquita would be equipped with valuable insights – a fantastic personalization touch that made the experience even more tailored to my needs.

The first thing I noticed when I went to DVINITI Skincare was the curation and care evident in the setup. Not only was the waiting area beautiful, but I was greeted with a warm welcome from Marquita and Danielle, who offered tea, water, and anything I needed to make my experience all the more relaxing. 

The experience started with a digital scan of the skin to get a facial map of the texture and appearance of the skin to help us pick out a few oils to get started. This involved a screen photographing my face to help us see areas of concern that are not visible to the naked eye. The interactive mirror measured and provided a rating of my skin in the following areas:

• Pore Size
• Dark Circles
• Hyperpigmentation or dark marks/scars
• Fine lines
• Wrinkles
• Skin

Marquita was so helpful in walking me through all the information, not to mention boosting my confidence! I loved how important it was to her to know my needs before assigning what products I may need. Everything was custom to my life, daily routine, and preferences.

Personalized From Start to Finish

After the thorough skin analysis, Marquita guided me through various oils and conducted patch tests to ensure we found the perfect match. We took the time to individually assess each oil for its feel and compatibility with my skin, aiming for the most effective healing properties. Marquita provided clear guidance on what indicators to observe, and together, we meticulously tested each ingredient to craft products tailored specifically to my skin type.

We also delved into essential oils for fragrance and other healing properties. Marquita explained the benefits of essential oils and how they offer a healing touch to address various concerns. Recognizing my slight dryness, we opted for products infused with Patchouli to provide extra hydration and address my specific needs. 

Once we had carefully selected the ideal products for my skin, I was treated to a lovely facial sweep. This treatment began with a thorough deep cleanse and toning, preparing my skin to absorb the ensuing moisture. It left my skin with a radiant, hydrated glow, with the added comfort of knowing there would be no adverse reactions later.

Every step of this process was highly intentional. I got to see the way each of these absorbed into my skin, and we even used a magnifier device so I could see firsthand how the moisture changed my texture. I was also able to fill out a sheet to note what I liked and didn’t like – allowing me to rank the oils from my favorite to least favorite. This personalized approach actively engaged me in the selection process and made the experience feel uniquely tailored to my preferences and needs. 

I learned a ton about the oils and how much more they provide than just smells and developed a personal blend that worked for me. Marquita spoke about the importance of cleansers, toners, moisturizers and how oils can work for all these.
