We have become experts chefs, homemakers, homeschoolers and cleaners, while the inner fashionista has taken a back seat. Time to swap out the loungewear, because this year is all about exuberance, being bold and revisiting some of the most fashionable eras. Here are 6 fashion trends you need to try this Spring 2021.

Bold Shoulders

Most of us are no stranger to the exaggerated sleeve, remember the ever popular shoulder pad tee made popular by the Frankie shop. Well it’s still here but in a bigger and bolder manner. The runways were reminiscent of the 80s with super bold shoulders. The sharp modern siholette graced runways like Balmain and Balenciaga. Some paired with another trend; power pants. Now if you are not aiming to mimick MC HAMMER in his hey day, you may want to stick to paring them separtely. Either way, don’t shrug your shoulders to this bold trend.

Go bold with interesting shapes like a co ord set with wide leg pants in leui of scrunched. Theres also emphasis on embellishments and bold colors. Yellow And Hot Pink

Every season theres always a hot color that you cant help but see in streetstyle everywhere. This season is no different. Pantone announced one of their colors of the year as Illuminating yellow, and its already been brightening up spring runway shows. Wear a monochrome look in various shades of yellow for a fresh take.

The other color sure to make a splash;hot pink. Rages of hot pink to neon will be all the rage. This season is all about being bold and sporting this color is one way of doing it. Try in a jacket, sweater or slip skirt. If you want to mute it down just a bit, wear with white or nude for a nice contrast.

Sheer

Sheer and second skins will also be baring all this Spring. Many designers have featured this barely there trend in several shows already. Its not long before we see it trickle down to street style and fashion mavens alike. For a great juxtaposition its been seen layered with richer textures like leather, where it adds just the right amount of soft femininity to the hard edge. It also can be layered over softer layers for a softer take on popular knit co ord trends. Sheer styles are the perfect way to transition into Spring.

Nautical Vibes

Many of us may still be prohibited or anxious about traveling to an exotic location, lucky for us we have fashion to transport us there. Nautical and seaside themes were seen by the likes of Burberry. Unlike the usual traditional blue, white and red color scheme, the approach is modern and fresh. It’s reimagined in kimono style dresses covered in sea urhins, and fisherman net handbags. The designers have put the bait out and I’m sure many of us are going to bite!
