The Westin Resort and Spa Puerto Vallarta: My Experience Wellness Oasis That Gives Your Mind and Body a Break

I love a resort that offers plenty of opportunities to unwind while engaging with the local culture. It’s the best of both worlds and doesn’t make your stay feel too predictable. That said, I indulged in a post-summer retreat at The Westin Resort and Spa in Puerto Vallarta (PV), Mexico – marking my first trip to PV and Mexico as a whole. My first impressions? Considering I was greeted with a hand-crafted cocktail upon checking in (which was refreshing considering the humidity), it was a wonderful start to my three-day stay! Keep reading for more on my experience at this wellness-focused resort.

Key highlights of this property

First things first: There are a few key features that make this Westin property compared to other resorts.

1. It sits on 14 lush acres of land.

This hotel perfectly connects land and sea thanks to its abundance of palm trees and scenic ocean views that can be seen throughout the property. You’ll feel immersed in the nature experience, whether you’re walking out to your balcony, heading to the pool or simply taking a stroll around the property to get your steps in.

2. The hotel maintains a strong commitment to sustainability.

If you’re hoping for a greener vacation experience, The Westin Resort and Spa in Puerto Vallarta provides that through its measures to reduce plastic water bottle use. This includes offering refill stations in hallways, pitchers in each room and reusable aluminum containers that are available to purchase with 25% of the proceeds from each sale being donated to an environmental conservation foundation. (The hotel’s website offers additional information on their sustainability practices.)

3. It’s set to become an all-inclusive resort by 2025.

Along with its serene ambiance and sustainable offerings, the hotel is gearing up to become The Westin’s first all-inclusive resort in Mexico by 2025. This means guests will feel even more connected to nature through various upgrades, including reimagined luxury suites and guest rooms and suites, a new botanical bar concept and activities that will make for an unforgettable vacation.

Here are some memorable experiences that I believe are worth trying out during your stay.
