Beyoncé’s New Collection Ivy Park Rodeo to Highlight Black Cowboys

IVY Park New Collection Features Houston’s Finest

In the latest installment of her IVY Park x Adidas collection, Beyoncé spotlights the black rodeo experience.The Houston native also brought in help from new and familiar faces from her hometown.

The new line, fittingly dubbed, Ivy Park Rodeo, is uplifting the overlooked cultural influence of Black and brown cowboys and cowgirls.

“After understanding where the word ‘cowboy’ came from, I realized how much of the Black, brown and Native cowboy stories are missing in American history,” Beyoncé said. “I am proud to represent Houston culture, my roots and all the people who understand fried Snickers and fried turkey legs.”

The collection merges fashion with Western tradition and features buckles, chaps and a cow print in an unexpected purple-and-brown mix. There are wide-leg denim pants and bodysuits, a denim track suit and bucket hat, a canvas waist bag and even a cowboy hat, among other pieces.” Houston Chronicle

The new campaign features Houston rappers Tobe Nwigwe, his wife Fat, and producer Lanell Grant, along with up-and-coming rapper Monaleo.

Nwigwe rose to popularity in 2016 with his weekly freestyle series #gettwistedsundays. While including his wife Fat and family in all of his visuals. Tobe took to social media to express his excitement for the collaboration.

Monaleo, whose single, “Beating Down Yo Block” racked up over 2 million streams on Spotify, says that being able to work with Beyonce is a blessing.

“God continues to bless me over and over again. It was an honor to be able to work alongside Bey in this campaign. Thank you for challenging me and breaking me out of my shell. Thank you for pushing me and encouraging me the whole shoot,” she wrote via Instagram.

The IVY Park Rodeo collection will launch exclusively on on Aug. 19 for 24 hours. It will drop globally the next day.
