From Desert to Closet: How To Recreate Your Favorite Coachella Fits

When I say Coa, you say Chella … Coa … Chella. Haha, just kidding, I’ll leave that for the actual event itself. Yep! It’s that time of year again for the popular outdoor music festival in Indio, CA.

Since 1999, people have gathered in the large open field around a stage to party and jam out all night! This year’s lineup includes award-winning artists like Sabrina Carpenter, Justin Bieber, Givẽon, Young Thug, Sexyy Red and Teddy Swims.

The weekend is split up into two parts. The first happening is from April 10 to 12, allowing more influencers, celebrities and brands to hang out and connect. The second weekend, April 17 to 19, is known to be more chill, with fewer influencers. People are more laid back because the schedule is already confirmed, and they know who and what to expect.

Regardless of the vibe you want to show up looking like, look your best. You need to take into account the weather, how long you will be standing and walking, whether you will camp out on the weekend and what bathroom access will look like.

Here are some of the best fits and style tips you need to get your money’s worth out of the festival and look good doing it.

Coachella Style Guide

1. Boho Goddess

Think maxi flowy skirts and dresses. Something with an earth tone vibe. Breathable, lets you feel free and cute. Can be paired with a boot sneaker or sandal. Large hoops or a decorated ear with several studs/or hoops, rings, and bangles to complement the look. Lean into soft movement with fabrics that catch the breeze as you walk, giving that effortless, floaty feel from day to night. Lightweight cottons, linens, and thin materials that keep you cool under the sun while still looking put together.

Let the colors stay grounded: warm browns, muted greens, soft creams and dusty orange. Add a loose braid, curls, or a slick bun to keep things easy. You can also add a kimono or scarf for when the temperature drops, and finish with a crossbody bag.

2. Crochet Good Girl

You could never go wrong with anything crochet. From bra to hat or even a dress. It shows just enough skin without going overboard. The fabric is also breathable, which will be very important for the festival heat. Can be styled with boots, sneakers or a cute sandal. For jewelry, I would keep it simple, whether in silver or gold.

Lean into the texture and detail that crochet naturally offers, letting it be the statement without over-accessorizing. Neutral tones like cream, tan, and soft pastels give that effortless festival feel, while brighter colors can add a fun pop if you want to stand out. Layering is also key. Try a crochet top over a bikini or bralette for a relaxed, beachy vibe. Play with silhouettes like fitted skirts or loose tops to balance comfort and shape. Finish the look with natural makeup, glossy lips and easy hair for that carefree, sun-kissed glow.

3. Fringe and Western Baddie

Western vibes are always top tier for a Coachella fest, no matter what day it is. It’s confident, main character energy. Fringe is free and bold, also moves when you walk. Large belt buckle, western hat and bandanas. This look pairs best with lipstick or lip liner, topped with popping gloss.

Lean into textures like suede, leather and denim to really bring the look together and add an authentic edge. A cropped jacket or vest can add dimension without feeling too heavy in the heat. Play with contrast by mixing fitted pieces with looser silhouettes to keep it flattering and comfortable. Stackable rings or a statement cuff can elevate the look without taking away from the bold western elements. Don’t be afraid to add a little shimmer on the eyes or a sun-kissed highlight to complete that radiant, confident finish.

4. Matching Set Cutie

No, when I say matching set, I mean top and bottom match to a T. But you can’t just leave it at the plain color-matching set unless you want to; I’d advise adding layers to it. Also, consider bedazzling your set or choosing one that already has patterns.

A cropped jacket, a fuzzy hat or even a cute flannel can add a touch of spice. Stick with louder neon colors for this look. Pink, green, red, yellow and orange. Sets can be best paired, such as sneakers or sandals. With some cute jewelry pieces and fun artistic makeup to complement the look. Add tinted sunglasses, mini bags and playful nails to really pull everything together and make the outfit stand out.

5. Classy Denim and White

If someone told you a white tee and denim bottom did not eat at this festival, they lied. Even Kylie Jenner rocked this look. Yes, it’s basic, but it can be dressed up or down and looks pretty good on any body type.

You can wear loud jewelry pieces with a loud bag. Shoes are endless here. Add a statement belt, layer necklaces, or throw on a bold jacket to elevate it. Play with textures like distressed denim or oversized fits for extra style.

Finish it off with sleek shades, a confident walk, and a fresh face beat that keeps the whole look effortless yet eye-catching. My favorite add-on would include Ruby Woo on the lips and a designer bag.
