These 9 WTF Rumors About ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Are Sending Fans Into Full Theory Mode

Out of the three human live-action Spider-Men, Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland, Maguire’s work can be listed amongst my favorites. But it really depends on which dimension and universe you meet Spider-Man, which determines your superhero experience.

With the newest movie “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” starring Tom Holland and co-star and wife Zendaya, fans already have speculation of what’s to come on July 31. Peter is finally an independent adult and doing life on his own.

A popular claim on Regal Cinema’s website is that the film is set after “Avengers: Doomsday.” Including the rumor that Peter Parker is alleged to step away and begin a new life

Now don’t shoot the messenger, I’m just letting you know what was said, even if it doesn’t make sense. “Doomsday”’s predicted air date is December 18, 2026. With Andy Park being laid off, who knows what the future holds for the MCU, but that’s neither here nor there … here are nine other rumors that will have you thinking WTF.

1. Peter Gets a New Name

Gabrielle Rockson reports that she saw a sneak peek at CinemaCon in April. The character Peter Parker adopts a new identity after sacrificing his identity in “Spider-Man: No Way Home.” Parker will now go by the name “Maynard,” as he begins rebuilding his life without recognition.

2. Dare Devil Returns

I missed the post, but Josh Wilding with ComicBookMovie.com says a post-and-delete happened on Instagram when actor Luke Cage (Mike Colter from Daredevil) shared a photo of himself in an orange prison jumpsuit with Deborah Will and Charlie Cox. According to Wilding, this post suggests we are getting “The Devil in Cell Block D” storyline.

3. New Sets Revealed Through LEGO

LEGO has reportedly released new sets that reflect the “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” movie. The pieces are different scenes that you will allegedly see on your big screen in July. The first set to become available will be the prison transport scene.

4. MJ Has a New Man

He was a “Star Wars” star before coming over to Spidey’s world and taking MJ. Eman Esfandi is said to play MJ’s man in this new movie, as seen in the trailer. This will be MJ’s new boo after the memory-erasing events of No Way Home, creating conflict with Peter. Fans are saying John Boyega was rumored to play this role, but they would rather not see him in that role.

5. Ned’s Memory Returns

With MJ getting a new man and her and Ned both interacting with Peter in the new movie, many are wondering if they can remember again. Why is Peter interacting with them, and is the spell starting to weaken or break entirely, possibly leading to dangerous consequences across the multiverse and their relationships?

6. XMan, Hulk Appears from MCU

Movie lovers are speculating about this scene from the movie’s preview in which a girl is seen listening to music, resembling “X-Men”’s Rogue.

Fans are commenting on the mix of white and brown hair while wearing a New York Jets shirt. Mark Ruffalo, starring as the Hulk, could also be making an appearance from the MCU. The Hollywood Reporter says the rumor has been around for a while, but began to take shape as production moved to England to shoot.

7. Spider-Man Plus The Punisher

The Hollywood Reporter also reports that The Punisher is joining the MCU this time around. Jon Bernthal would make his first movie appearance since 2008 if this is true, marking a major shift for the character on screen today and expanding his role into larger cinematic storylines ahead.

8. No ManSpider

Reports are saying, “No ManSpider!”

The animal monster version of Parker turns into a savage after he loses his power. These traits amplify the powers that were physically lagging, causing him to climb walls and behave like a savage predator.
