Netflix has confirmed that the hit show “Nobody Wants This” will return for a third season, continuing its slow-burn exploration of faith, love and the contradictions of modern relationships. Created by Erin Foster, the series follows Joanne Frank, a sarcastic, agnostic podcaster played by Kristen Bell, and Noah Klein, the reform rabbi portrayed by Adam Brody. All ten episodes of the second season landed on October 23, 2025, tracing how their relationship walks the line between belief and independence. The latest finale suggests the couple might finally be ready to meet in the middle.
‘Nobody Wants This’ Season 1: Where It All Began

The first season of “Nobody Wants This” introduced Frank and Klein, whose worlds couldn’t be more different. Frank makes a career out of dissecting modern relationships with his sister, Morgan, played by Justine Lupe, while Klein spends his days rooted in faith and family tradition. What begins as a chance encounter turns into an ongoing negotiation between belief and connection, independence and devotion.
Across ten episodes, their dynamic unfolds slowly, full of humor, tension and quiet honesty. Frank’s reluctance to embrace religion and Klein’s attempt to bridge two opposing lives form the heart of the story. By the finale, they are somewhere between opposites and equals, proving that chemistry and compatibility do not always live in the same place.
‘Nobody Wants This’ Season 2: Finding the Middle Ground

The second season picks up with Frank and Klein giving their relationship another try. They seem older in spirit but are still learning how to meet in the middle. Frank is content remaining an atheist, even as her mother, played by Stephanie Faracy, begins her own conversion journey. Klein hesitates to move in with her, forcing Frank to confront what has always been unspoken. Either she converts, or they might have to walk away.
A late-season conversation with Klein’s sister-in-law, Esther, played by Jackie Tohn, changes everything. Esther reminds Frank that she is overcomplicating the idea of belief and that her values already align more closely with Judaism than she realizes. The pep talk pushes Frank to chase after Klein, who admits he does not care whether she is Jewish or not, only that they belong together. Before they kiss, Frank smiles and tells him, “You’re in luck.”
The season also resets the supporting cast. Esther separates from her husband, Sasha, played by Timothy Simons, realizing she needs to understand herself outside marriage. Morgan ends her engagement to Dr. Andy, portrayed by Arian Moayed, during her own engagement party, admitting she rushed into it. By the final credits, every character seems to be starting over, standing on uncertain but open ground.
‘Nobody Wants This’ Season 3: The Story Continues

Netflix announced the renewal less than two weeks after Season two premiered, as first reported by Deadline. The show’s success explains the quick decision as it surpassed 18 million views in 12 days and reached the top of Netflix’s English-language chart.
To celebrate, Netflix released a clip of Bell FaceTiming her castmates Adam Brody, Timothy Simons, Jackie Tohn and Justine Lupe to share the news. The moment feels as endearing as the show itself. Bell also calls Foster, who reminds her that she was the one who told Bell first.

Foster, who also serves as writer and executive producer, said, “It is a privilege to be able to write about my favorite couple on a scale like this. As long as it does not take too much time away from me watching reality TV at night, I’ll do it for as long as they want me to.” Showrunners Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan added, “This job is criminally fun. Working with Erin, this unbelievable cast, amazing writers, and incredible crew has been a truly great experience.”
Production for Season three is expected to begin in spring 2026, keeping pace with the series’ yearly schedule. If that timeline holds, the new episodes are expected to arrive in fall 2026.
What Comes Next

“Nobody Wants This” season three will likely pick up right where the finale left off, following Frank’s evolving relationship with faith and Klein’s attempt to balance belief with partnership. Morgan’s independence and Esther’s separation open new storylines, while Sasha’s quiet patience hints at another love story waiting to unfold.
Visually, the show’s understated style continues to do quiet work. Frank dresses with ease and purpose, like someone who has stopped trying to please anyone but herself. Klein’s wardrobe is neat but worn in, reflecting a life lived between order and adaptation. Their world—book-filled apartments, low-lit podcast studios and family dinners charged with unsaid emotion—feels as textured as the relationships that fill it.
