Inclusivity drives Barbie’s new doll line! This June, Barbie will debut a new line that showcases barbies with disabilities. According to an article by CNN.com, the new dolls are apart of Mattel's 2019 Barbie Fashionistas line.

In the pictures that were used to promote this line, one can see a barbie in a wheelchair, while another has a prosthetic leg.

"As a brand, we can elevate the conversation around physical disabilities by including them into our fashion doll line to further showcase a multi-dimensional view of beauty and fashion," Mattel said in a statement.

The toymaker  worked with UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital and wheelchair experts to design a wheelchair, which the company said has been one of the most requested accessories from Barbie fans.

The Barbie Dreamhouse will also have a renovation, as it will include house areas that are accessible for the wheelchair barbie.

According to a study by  the Service and Inclusion Project, it is estimated the 48.9 Americans have a disability. One billion people in the entire planet, has a disability.

Other barbies included in this line are barbies with braid hair texture and body positive barbies showcasing different body shapes.

Mattel has been working over the past few years to create barbies that that reflect the world we live in.
