5 Moments From The Super Bowl Halftime Trailer That Have People Hype

This year’s halftime show will for sure be better than the game. Pepsi released the official trailer for their Super Bowl Halftime Show on Youtube. The five artists performing will be Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar. The NFL has been under fire for a while now but they’re hoping to change the conversation with these heavy hitters.

The trailer introduces each artist’s name in bold gold letters and features one of their songs. The video opens with a large chess board of shiny moving pieces and then zooms in to Eminem.

Slim Shady’s Appearance

Eminem’s alter ego Slim Shady is featured in the video too. He is arranging his lyrics in the air and tossing them around as he’s rapping. He stops when he hears his phone go off, presumably with the news that he’s performing at the halftime show. Each artist’s segment ends like this.

Snoop Dogg’s Convertible

Snoop Dogg appears in his usual fashion. “The Next Episode” is playing in the background which is fitting because Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg will both be performing. Maybe this is foreshadowing?

Mary J. Blige’s Furs

Mary J. Blige is next to make an appearance. She simply never misses and this video was no exception. It shows her getting her makeup done and walking a runway that’s streaming to a billboard. She wears a long blue feather jacket and then changes into a long fur coat to pose next to a car.

Dr. Dre’s Ocean Piano

After we see Kendrick Lamar throwing papers filled with lyrics to the tune of “Humble,” we cut to the beach to see Dr. Dre. A piano rises out of the ocean and the keys move to the tune of “Still D.R.E.” Then sparks fly in the background as we see that he is the one moving the chess pieces.

“California Love”

Finally the artists arrive and walk toward the SoFi Stadium together. The stadium is in Inglewood, California so the song “California Love” is playing in the background, naturally.

The 56th Super Bowl is on Sunday, February 13 and most importantly, Tom Brady won’t be in it.
