I truly believe that lessons are caught more than they are taught, and parents in general have the greatest level of responsibility as stewards over their children’s lives to mold & develop their character. I’ve watched my parents, imperfect but faithful, guide me to a perfect God and a life that would be transformed by knowing Him personally. My father was the man who introduced me to Jesus making me want to know Him for myself. He also modeled passionate servanthood & leadership before me while my mother modeled high standards and a renaissance-like approach to being unafraid to tap into untapped potential; whatever she tries, she puts her entire self into it and does it well. In addition to that, my parents were and still are incredibly hard workers. I constantly aim to be ‘like’ them, in that they are living out their individual passion and purpose. Lastly, they always allowed me to be ‘Kanita’. The transparency I had and still have with them was life-giving to my maturity. They gave me permission to be human, which helped me in my walk with God. Their influence has challenged me to be a better Christian, woman, future wife and mother.
