Many artist and athletes we have the tendency of comparing ourselves to someone else.  Rather it be he sounds like Kanye or he plays like A.I., we are always inclined to compare. But then there are those rare occasions when you come across someone that is such an anomaly that finding someone to compare them too is almost impossible. Impossible like finding someone that actually liked the Fantastic Four reboot.

Often times if it a parodied on sitcoms it is more then likely a trending concern in America. Matters so heavy it may be best to throw a few jokes in on it in your favorite shows such as King of Queens, Martin, and others and we get a big laugh out it and have something to hypothetically discuss over dinner.

It is one thing to have a voice when singing but Kanita has a voice to be heard.

Who had the biggest influence on your life?

Other than Christ Himself, my parents have had the biggest influence on my life. I truly believe that lessons are caught more than they are taught, and parents in general have the greatest level of responsibility as stewards over their children’s lives to mold & develop their character. I’ve watched my parents, imperfect but faithful, guide me to a perfect God and a life that would be transformed by knowing Him personally. My father was the man who introduced me to Jesus making me want to know Him for myself. He also modeled passionate servanthood & leadership before me while my mother modeled high standards and a renaissance-like approach to being unafraid to tap into untapped potential; whatever she tries, she puts her entire self into it and does it well. In addition to that, my parents were and still are incredibly hard workers. I constantly aim to be ‘like’ them, in that they are living out their individual passion and purpose. Lastly, they always allowed me to be ‘Kanita’. The transparency I had and still have with them was life-giving to my maturity. They gave me permission to be human, which helped me in my walk with God. Their influence has challenged me to be a better Christian, woman, future wife and mother.

Hip-hop is treading strange waters these days, strange like the lake in the Scottish Highlands. Once thought to be home of the Loch Ness monster, later with much of the scientific community regarding it as a modern day myth. Explaining the sighting includes misidentifications and simply flat out hoaxes! However, until this day people like to carry on the charade despite the facts. This is where we find hip hop, real waters with fake inhabitants, yet we still pretend as if this is good music. We know most rappers are frauds, misidentifying what good rap is.
