The beautiful and ambitious global YouTube star and now Make up product owner, talks with us about her make up brand J'dez, life, style and more. As the first Latina YouTuber to break into the beauty industry Jackie has become more than just another pretty face, but a face for girls, and women who look like her, look to her and look up to her for inspiration.
After a busy week of travel, Jackie took some time out of her day to have an exclusive interview with us. Born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. Jackie is one of 5 children; all girls. At the age of 17, Jackie came to the United States to be with her family. "I had just graduated high school and couldn’t afford to go to college or university so I had to work." Jackie Recounts the memory as if it was yesterday as she goes on to tell me that in light of this reality, to make matters more challenging, Jackie didn’t know English which only made the situation more difficult. "I knew that I had to learn how to speak English and I needed to work somewhere that could help me be flexible in that area so I began my work as a waitress/bus girl at a Mexican restaurant." As I listened to Jackie talk, I realized now why her smile was so sincere and her laugh so genuine, it was because with her success came very humble beginnings. Jackie recalls while working as a waitress she sometimes had to even clean bathrooms, but Jackie being a harder worker never complained, it never bothered her.
